Here’s a couple shots of the Furlesque booth at Woodman Avenue Market - week one! It’s still in the 90s in Los Angeles so we haven’t really whipped out the “Fall Gear” but it’s coming soon.

New Farmer’s Market - Sherman Oaks, California

October 17th, 2008

Furlesque has signed on for this new conveniently located farmer’s market in Sherman Oaks.  We’re generally not farmer’s market types but we liked the people associated with this one and have decided to give it a try.  It’s at the corner of Woodman & Riverside with NOOOO parking hassles - there’s tons of it AND it’s free, as is admission.  Just pull in from the Riverside Dr. / Macy’s side (it’s in the lot behind the Bank of America).  The whole thing took off with a real bang this past Tuesday (week 1) and we met a bunch of great people/vendors. Come by - you’ll find veggies, flowers, food, live music, nice people and your daily dose of Furlesque. Tuesdays 3 - 8 p.m.  Flyer is below and site link is:  http://www.woodmanavenuemarket.com.

Artsy craftsy yousy…in time for Halloween

October 16th, 2008

Calling all repressed artists - I say it’s time to pull those old Steve Maddens out of the Salvation Army bag and have some fun! Remember third grade, when you weren’t worried about making a mistake and drawing outside the lines?  It’s time to get back in the game.  Get yourself some Elmer’s glue and do a little free form art before you trash those shoes…you have nothing to lose except all those silly rules in your head!  My work below includes glue, glitter, maybe a sequin here and there and some acrylic paint from the local art store.  Knock yourself out and let your inner artist go wild….

After all, you’re gonna need a visionary to help you with that Halloween costume!

P.S. Note to self, lock cat and/or dog in bedroom before opening glitter.

I call her….”Pink Girl”

August 28th, 2008
soooo - truly - how do you wear her?  Bought her at a vintage store on Sunset in Silverlake ages ago….and here she sits - bored - all dressed up nowhere to go.  But really, how is she worn….is this right?  I thought this little pink girl at least deserved the light of day via the internet - since I’ve kept her holed up in captivity for years……

suggestions appreciated….
